🚔🚓 OPU Drug Driver Arrest 🚓🚔

This morning, officers from the Hereford Operational Policing Unit (OPU) were informed that a vehicle which had made off from officers during the previous shift in Malvern had activated an ANPR camera in the local area. 👀📸

Acting on this information, officers quickly located the vehicle and caught up with it in Leigh Sinton. The driver, a man in his 20s, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of an offence under Section 5A of the Road Traffic Act after providing a positive roadside drugs test for cannabis and nitrous oxide. 🚔🚨

A search of the vehicle also resulted in cannabis and nitrous oxide being seized. 🌿🚫🎈

This is just one example of the many vehicle stops, arrests and proactive patrols carried out by our Roads Policing and Operational Policing Units every day. ✅👮‍♂️🚓

Our officers work around the clock ⏰ to identify drivers who pose a risk to other road users and take positive action to keep our communities and roads safe. 🛣️🚗🚙

Drug driving can have devastating consequences. If you choose to get behind the wheel while impaired, expect to be stopped, investigated and dealt with robustly. ❌🚘➡️🚔
